BFF's

Last night I met up with two of my BFF's from high school whom I had not seen in five years. The last time we were all together was at a funeral for someone very close to the three of us. After that sad occasion we just drifted apart. No phone calls, no get-togethers. Just this unexplained silence between the three of us. We went on with our separate lives - without each other. (It honestly breaks my heart to look back and think about the years we've wasted). When someone's passing should have made us realize the value of the present and the importance of keeping close those that we cared about, the opposite of that was what we did. Shame on us, I know. Well, last night when we saw each other for the first time in years, we just molded together naturally. Like a puzzle had just been completed and the satisfaction it brought everyone involved. The chemistry between us didn't feel forced at all, just like the good old days! Over pints of beer, we carried on long conversations about the crazy things we used to do and planned the things we wanted to do together in the future. Nothing has changed, we are still the same girls we used to be ages ago who giggled over the mere mention of a cute guy we had a crush on.
