Sick

I fell ill soon after the New Year's celebrations were over. I must have overdone it. I've been coughing a lot for more than a week now. I'm pretty sure it isn't the flu because I've already had a flu shot. Plus I was able to show up to work everyday last week. Anyway, this persistent cough has been so annoying! It has kept me up at night, caused embarrassment when I'm on BART, and made me feel like a freaking leper. Today is like Day 11th and although I'm feeling a lot better than last week, the coughing still lingers intermittently. I think my body just needs to rest. But odd as it may sound, I'm glad to be sick now while I'm still at home rather than on my holiday. The latter would have put a damper on things. Thank you, God!
