One of the main attractions here, the Alcazar Palace sits at the highest point of the city.
The bridge over Tagus River
The Tagus River flows through the city of Toledo
Meeting of the old and the new: Parked cars in this medieval village!
One of the Gothic towers of the Cathedral
Cathedral of Toledo
Founded in the 1st Century by the first Bishop of Toledo. It was changed into a mosque by the Arabs during Moorish occupation of Spain, and then converted back into a cathedral by Alfonso VI. In the 13th Century it was destroyed and the impressive Gothic building which can be seen today was built on the old cathedral's foundations.
It's amazing to see it still standing today.
Two of the friendliest locals.
These narrow streets really spooked me. Not because I'm claustrophobic. But it felt like some Hannibal Lechter-like character was lurking somewhere out there, watching my every move & ready to jump at me so he could pull me into a torture chamber in some dungeon....aaaaaaaaaaah!
See what I mean?
