Le Louvre

A long-time obsession with The DaVinci Code brought me to this place. I will be forever grateful for that obsession. Seeing the pyramid for the first time was one of the most surreal experiences of my life, to say the least. The bitter cold & dreariness of this winter day in Paris only fueled my fascination with The Louvre. For a split second, and only for a split second, I morphed into Sophie Neveu. Certainly an experience that will be hard to top!





CONTROVERSY
The construction of the pyramid triggered considerable controversy because many people feel that this futuristic edifice looks quite out of place in front of the Louvre Museum with its classical architecture.


Critics dismissed the design by calling it a "scar on the face of Paris," a sentiment echoed by Besu Fache.


Others came to appreciate the juxtaposing of contrasting architectural styles as a successful merger of the old and the new, the classical and the ultra-modern.
